On February 9 at 3 p.m., three Rockville musical groups will perform at Rockville United Church (www.rockvilleunitedchurch.org). (355 Linthicum St., Rockville, MD 20851)

HOM_logoHOM is a group of 40 women who sing four-part, unaccompanied, close-harmony—or barbershop—songs. Their repertoire includes popular songs from the 1940s through today. Their concerts are fun to watch and delightful to hear. For more information—and to sample performance songs—visit www.homchorus.org/watch-and-listen/audio.html.

RC_logoThis city-sponsored choral ensemble of some 80 mixed voices performs selections from classical choral repertoire, Broadway musical material, classical jazz arrangements, and original compositions from contemporary composers, generally in four part harmony. The chorus provides free concerts for the Rockville community throughout the year. For more information—and to hear recordings from a recent performance —visit rockvillechorus.com/events/.

Rockville Singers
The Singers are an outreach group of some 35 voices from the Rockville Chorus, created in the mid ‘90s to perform at venues too small to accommodate the chorus. Their repertoire generally differs from that of the Chorus.

CMR_logoCommunity Ministries of Rockville
The concert is free—but we ask for a free will offering that can help fund CMR’s Emergency Assistance Program (REAP). The program provides emergency financial assistance to Rockville residents coping with crisis (eviction, utility termination) and referrals for social services (food, clothing) to all county residents. Last year REAP provided over $96,000 dollars to more than 650 people in the Rockville area. For more information on REAP, please visit Community Ministries of Rockville’s website (www.cmrocks.org/services/rockville-emergency-assistance-program).

Please join us for light refreshments following the concert.
