Join the Rockville Chorus on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. for their “American Sampler” concert at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at the Rockville Civic Center Park located at 603 Edmonston Drive, Rockville, Maryland, 20851.
For this concert, Rockville Chorus Director, Bryan Seith, has chosen a wide variety of uniquely American styles, including: early folk songs, Gospel, Shaker music, even formal music of the concert hall and sounds of Broadway.
Highlights of this concert include “Shenandoah” arranged by James Erb, Pepper Choplin’s “Hold On to the Rock”, “Swing Down, Chariot” arranged by Greg Gilpin, and “The Mansions of the Lord” by Randall Wallace and Nick Glennie-Smith (from the film, We Were Soldiers). The Chorus will also perform several selections from the Broadway stage including “More I Cannot Wish You” from Guys and Dolls (by Frank Loesser and arranged by Steve Zegree) and “Let Me Be Your Star” from Smash (by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, arranged by Greg Gilpin).
The Rockville Chorus is currently composed of over 90 members – the largest number of members in the Chorus’s history. They have been delighting local audiences of all ages with quality musical selections for more than 30 years.
